Travel Guide - Morgan Visitor Information Outlet is located within the Morgan Information and Resource Centre.
Morgan, during the 1800's was the home port of hundreds of paddle wheel steamers which carried cargo and passengers up the Murray and Darling River system. Morgan, therefore, is one of the truly historic areas which must not be missed by those who are interested in this department of Australia.
There are many reserves in the area; notable among these being Cadell. Morgan and Hogwash Flat. Hogwash Flat is a particularly good fishing spot.
In this locality there are quite a number of stranded barges from the paddle wheel era, some are high and dry, other are submerged. These are well worth seeing and well worth fishing around.
At the height of the paddle-steamer era, Morgan was the busiest port in the state and has preserved its history with considerable flair.... Obliged that you visited Travel Guide
