Travel Guide - Lucy's Run Wines are a small boutique winery, located in the Hunter Valley producing consistent medal-winning wines from around 2006 to current.
Lucy's Run was first planted in 1998 and first vintage in 2002. There are three grape varieties: Verdelho, Merlot and Shiraz, with nine acres of vines in total. Their Winemaker is David Hook.
They are very small, with approximately 800 cases of wine produced each year, and they only use their own grapes. They focus all of their care and attention to detail on the vineyard, which means the vines are given the best opportunity to produce beautiful grapes. This quality of fruit comes through in the bottle, and the wine judges agree. Most of their visitors appreciate meeting the owners and growers for first-hand and personal stories from the vineyard, and they often say this is the best cellar door they have visited....
