Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum

Travel Guide - Explore the oldest roundhouse in NSW and enjoy the sights, sounds (and smells) of railway travel over the last 100 years! Enjoy unlimited 20 minute rides on our 1890s Sydney Steam Tramcar and view model railway layouts including a five metre long HO scale model of the Depot as it was in the 1950s. Climb aboard steam engines, carriages and wagons from many eras of trains across the mountains. See the remarkable "Caves Express" and the "Ice Van", carefully restored to their former glory! View exhibits of rail artefacts and paintings, local history and photographic display plus a large collection of books, videos and souvenir items. Kids can do the quiz and check answers on the website. The museum is normally open the second and fourth Sunday of every month.
