Travel Guide - Surveyors Hill is the remains of an ancient volcano more than 360 million years old, rising to 736 metres above sea level. First established in the 1980s, the vineyards are among the older plantings in the district and grow at the foot of the hill between 550 and 585 metres. Soils are free-draining and derived from weathered porphyritic rocks. Just 25 minutes from Canberra and in the heart of the Yass Valley. They also have a bistro to enjoy with group tastings and bus tours by appointment. The Bistro at Surveyor's Hill is open to the public for lunches between 12pm midday and 3pm on weekends and public holidays, or for special occasions by appointment. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available to residential guests each day by arrangement. Thanks for visiting Travel Guide
