Travel Guide - Boonoo Boonoo Falls National Park (pronounced "bunna boonoo", a local Aboriginal term for big rocks) is located north of Tenterfield. The Falls cascade over the eastern edge of the New England tableland crashing 220 metres into the rainforest and gorges below. An old gold field, Morgans Gully, can be visited while in the Park. Excellent swimming, camping and picnic areas - under cover gas cooking galley provided in both picnic and camping areas. There are interesting walks along the Boonoo Boonoo River from the camping area. You'll see excellent wildflower displays in spring, and birds, wallabies and even platypus may be seen along the river. Only 15 camping sites are available. See you next time at Travel Guide
